Romy Haag (født 1948) er danser, sanger og skuespiller – og et tysk LGBT-ikon. Hun er født som mand, men har levet som kvinde i sit voksne liv. Hun er født i Holland. I 1974 åbnede hun den verdensberømte natklub og kabaret i Berlin, Chez Romy Haag. Hun var en af Vestberlins mest flamboyante personer. Mange kendte mennesker besøgte kabareten blandt disse Bryan Ferry, Tina Turner, Freddie Mercury, Lou Reed og Mick Jagger. I 1976 indledte Haag og David Bowie et romantisk forhold. Bowie flyttede til Berlin og skrev bl.a. sangen Heroes. (Øverst på billedet til højre er der et lille portræt af Bowie).

Romy Haag (born 1948) is a dancer, singer and actor – and a German LGBT icon. She was born as a man but lived as a woman her adult life. She was born in the Netherlands. In 1974, she opened the world-famous nightclub and cabaret venue in Berlin, Chez Romy Haag. She was one of West Berlin’s most flamboyant characters. Many famous people visited the cabaret, including Bryan Ferry, Tina Turner, Freddie Mercury, Lou Reed and Mick Jagger. In 1976, Romy Haag and David Bowie began a romantic relationship. Bowie moved to Berlin and wrote, for example, the song Heroes. (At the top of the picture on the right can be seen a small portrait of Bowie).
