Bund Deutscher Mädel (German Girls’ Federation), was a Nazi organization for young girls between the ages of 14 and 18. From 1936 on, membership was mandatory. The organization was a sister organization to the Hitler Youth, which was only for boys. It was militarily built with uniforms and degrees. The organization was engaged in sports exercises, excursions and the like. Housework and training for good housewives gradually came to the fore. The overall goal, however, was to educate the girls to be Nazis. The organization was led by women.
